I have a penny that is sliver or at leasts looks it. it is from 1988 and it has an imprint of a gift on it. i want to know if it is rare or worth anything.

I believe what you have is a UK Porticullis 1988 ‘One Penny’ Mint. Here’s a link; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_one_penny_coin
If that’s not it, a picture would help alot! It could also be a 1940s steel penny if it’s a U.S. mint.
