There is a lot of bad customer service at the consumer level. However, at the corporate level, customer service is often much better. I work in a field that can be related to customer service, we don't offer automated services other than a prompt asking for the name of the customer you are calling for. I have also worked in jobs were I had to deal with many common ISP's, they have some of the worst customer service possible. In that sense, I agree with what everyone in this interview said.

Yep, thats why I always have to scoff when we have a company meeting and they tell us "guys we need to smile at the customers", if I didn't need what very very little money they gave I would say "well I need to pay rent, but you don't seem to fucking care so what do I have to smile about?"

EXACTLY!!!! People walk in the door acting like they own the place, and expect you to bow to their every move (disregarding all of the other customers) just because they spent a couple of dollars in your store. PLUS when i was a customer service rep. I really didn't get paid enough to even survive, let alone give two shits about what the customer thought. I did my best, if the customer was happy, great. If not, fuck 'em.

Well, thank you for considering us as the lowest rate people in the world. I should say that you are not good English speakers either. When a customer says "I talked to the post office...." I start to think over this the only thing that comes to my mind: "How can you speak to a post office? It does not have a tongue and a mouth" . What makes us speak gibberish is that you make people nervous when you burst out because of stupid things.
